Nursery

Our Nursery Programme –  A Journey of Exploration and Growth ,is thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and foundational learning through inquiry-based and play-driven experiences.

Unit of Inquiry: Curiosity Meets Connection

  • Who We Are -Children explore how they grow and learn as their bodies change, fostering self-awareness and a sense of identity.
  • How the World Works -Through engaging activities, students uncover the magic of seasons and the cycles of day and night, building connections to the natural world.
  • How We Express Ourselves -Creative forms like art, music, and movement help students express emotions, igniting imagination and emotional intelligence.
  • Sharing the Planet -Empathy and responsibility are nurtured as students learn to care for animals and their habitats, cultivating a deep appreciation for the world around them.

This holistic approach develops wonder, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility, empowering children to become mindful and engaged learners.

Literacy: Foundations for Language and Expression

The Nursery English curriculum lays a strong foundation in literacy through interactive, play-based learning. Children explore:

  • Letter recognition and phonetic sounds, building confidence in reading and writing all 26 small letters.
  • Simple CVC words, enhancing early word-building skills.
  • Speaking and listening skills through group discussions, storytelling, and role-play, promoting collaboration and communication.

Experiential learning ties these concepts to real-life experiences, supported by sensory play and outdoor explorations. Progress is tracked through observations and fun assessments, ensuring a joyful and engaging environment for language development.

Numeracy: Discovering the World of Numbers

Nursery students dive into mathematical explorations that build their understanding of numbers and relationships:

  • Associating numbers 0-10 with quantities, enhancing their numerical sense.
  • Exploring basic 2D shapes—circle, square, triangle, and rectangle—through play and environmental observations.
  • Investigating the concept of change in relation to time, temperature, weight, capacity, length, and position.
  • Comparing, sorting, and ordering objects based on size, weight, and capacity, fostering critical thinking.

Through hands-on activities and play, students develop problem-solving skills and confidence in applying mathematical concepts.

A World of Wonder Awaits

Our Nursery Programme blends inquiry, literacy, and numeracy to create an enriching environment where children thrive. With a focus on creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning, we prepare young minds for the exciting adventures ahead.
