IB Middle Years- Programme Model
The MYP is designed for students aged 11 to 16 years. It provides a framework of learning that encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. The curriculum framework for MYP at GGS is challenging and contextualized. It provides learners opportunities to create real-life connections with the depth of the content and fosters the development of skills needed to apply the content. The curriculum is designed following the MYP framework, involving MYP teachers collaborating with PYP.
GGS was authorized to offer MYP in 2019.
Are the big ideas, which form the basis of teaching and learning in the MYP. They ensure the width and depth in the curriculum promotes learning within and across disciplines.
Provide the starting points for inquiry into what it means to be internationally minded, framing a curriculum that promotes multilingualism, intercultural understanding and global engagement.
This is an essential component of the MYP which aims at nurturing selfless service towards community.
This is the culmination of MYP journey in year 5 through an extended, self-directed piece of research work which is initially assessed by the project assessment committee of the school, is moderated by the IB assessment team and serves as an important component of the MYP final report.
